Visite Privée: Art Visit Series
November 13th, 2025 @ Maxime Riché
Columbia alumni were welcomed by Maxime Riché at his Paris atelier. Maxime is a fellow alum, a current CAAF Board Member, and the former CAAF President.
He generously opened his doors and offered us a behind-the-scenes look at his creative process. Maxime focused on his years-long project Paradise, centered on the devastating Camp Fire that destroyed 95% of Paradise, California. The project spans infrared photography, images created using actual ash from the woodlands, interviews, a film, and a collection of handwritten notes from residents.
His vivid storytelling brought us directly to the frontlines of the disaster—and into the powerful story of resilience and rebirth that followed.

ABOUT THE SERIES
Each visit includes a guided tour led by an artist, curator, or gallerist, followed by an engaging discussion at a Paris art gallery or artist atelier. It provides a unique opportunity for alumni, artists and galleries to connect, fostering meaningful relationships around the world of contemporary art.
