Educating and training exceptionally gifted musicians to engage a local and global community through the highest level of artistry, the Curtis Institute of Music is one of the most acclaimed conservatoires in the world.  Its alumni include Leonard Bernstein, Samuel Barber, Gian Carlo Menotti, Juan Diego Flórez, Jennifer Koh, Lang Lang, and others who have gone on to make history as soloists, composers, conductors, orchestral players, and chamber musicians. The Arts Arena is honored to once again partner with Curtis to bring the best of their extraordinary musicians to our audiences through Curtis on Tour, the Nina von Maltzahn Global Touring Initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music.

This year, we are pleased to present Trio Zimbalist
violinist Josef Špaček, cellist Timotheos Gavriilidis-Petrin, and pianist George Xiaoyuan Fu – all distinguished alumni of Curtis. In demand across Europe and the U.S. as soloists, chamber musicians, and recitalists, they are also active composers, adventurous and multidisciplinary collaborators, and passionate advocates for the impact of music on global communities. Before officially founding Trio Zimbalist, the three musicians gave a spectacular performance at the Arts Arena in 2021. We are delighted to welcome them back now that they have formally joined their musical forces, and to do so as our opening event in the newly renovated Grande Salle of Columbia Global Centers | Paris.

The musical program will include Joseph Haydn, Piano Trio no. 39 in in G major, Hob. XV:25, Nikos Skalkottas: Eight Variations for Piano Trio, and
Antonin Dvořák: Piano Trio in E minor, Op. 90, “Dumky.” For information about the artists, please visit: https://artsarena.org/events/the-arts-arena-curtis-institute-of-music-concert/
